The dictionary contains 6295 roots and 7027 derivatives.
It is also available as a plain text file and a PDF file (updated on 28 October 2009).
This dictionary is an alphabetical list of LFN roots and their derivatives, accompanied by English translations.
To search, simply type part or all of an English or LFN word or phrase in the box at the top of the page, and then click the Search button. Or click the Random button to see a random selection of three articles.
You can restrict your search by selecting an option under Find:
You can also limit your search to just LFN words or their English translations by selecting a Language. If you select the - option, both languages are searched.
Similarly, you can restrict your search to just the entries for LFN roots or just those for LFN derivatives by selecting one of the options under Lines. If you select -, all entries are searched.
You can limit your search to the categories listed under Parts of speech. An asterisked category such as "n*" contains all instances of that part of speech. The other categories contain the combinations of parts of speech defined for each word. The "etc" category contains entries whose part of speech is irrelevant.
Select Show entire articles to display the root and all of its derivative entries for every match found, instead of just the matching entry.
If Match case is selected, the words found will be capitalized the same way as the word you search for.
If you select Clear the search box, when you click the Search button, the text you typed in the search box is removed ready for your next search.
The dictionary uses the following abbreviations:
Indicators such as (o-i) and (e-u) mark words in which two vowels do not form a diphthong in normal pronunciation.
